I hate flying. I don't even know how many Dramamine I had to take to get through a three-hour flight, but three days later, I'm finally waking up. Florida was nice, though. Still warm enough that my hair didn't freeze solid after going to the pool - can't say the same for Massachusetts. However, they don't have much of an appreciation for ice hockey, do Floridians. Most of them don't know or care that their state has a team in the NHL - two, even - though it's not much of one. Boston, on the other hand, is leading the Eastern Conference, and I'm back to use these season tickets.
I'm also back in Bristol for good. I'll be resuming my position as Athletics Director at Bristol High School as of next week, as well as Men's Swim/Diving coach. Vacation's over, kids. Hope they haven't been going easy on you. |

I can't believe that I've barely had the chance to sit down in the past two days. And I still can't believe that Cynthia found Tommy dead Monday morning, it's really just flabbergasting. I will admit something about him lately seemed off and I couldn't quite put my finger on it or even how I knew that something was wrong and even though the two of us have never got along going all the way back to when he was my gym teacher at BHS- it's still a tragedy. Between the other coaches and I at the school I've had to take on two more classes in lieu of all of this. Goodbye free periods.
*Period 1- Co-ed Advanced Diving, *Period 2- Co-ed Volleyball, *Period 3- Boy's Beginners Swimming, *Period 4- Girl's Beginners Swimming, *Period 5- Girl's Advanced Track & Field, *Period 6- Co-ed Advanced Swimming, *Period 7- Girl's Beginners Diving, *Period 8- Boy's Beginners Diving.
The administration says that they are already looking for a replacement but it'll take two weeks at the earliest. Not to sound like some uncaring asshole here, but this couldn't have come at a worse time. We've got regionals coming up in two months and the swim and dive teams are doing good, but are no where near were they need to be.
On top of that I recieved word today that the meet that was to be held here Saturday has been cancelled which I don't understand. I understand that Tommy just passed, but the funeral is on Friday. Oh I'm not even going to get into the stupidity of this school's administration. |

So it's 5.27am and I'm waiting for the sun to come up. I'm sitting here at the island counter in the kitchen waiting for my coffee to finish brewing and I can hear Luce snoring all the way from her bedroom. How lovely. The radio is on, some 'classic rock' station... I find it amusing to think that one day things such as OneRepublic and The Jonas Brothers will be considered classic music... ancient if you please.
Oh my cell phone is ringing, wonder who it could be? Wonder if it's possibly anyone other than my mother checking up on me to make sure that I haven't fallen asleep with a lit cigarette on an old dusty tweed couch. Oh well that was fun- supposedly she and Dad are thinking about taking a trip down to Florida... "Oh isn't that where Lizzie and Robert moved to, Landy?"
First off I hate when she calls me that and secondly... thanks Mom. Just thanks. Oh I'm a wretched excuse for a human being. HAH!
